Nike Free Run 2 Sneakerboot

So it looks like winter isn't quite over yet, no matter what we wished for. With all the snow melting you have to be careful about wearing your kicks around town. Not these though. The Nike Free Run 2 Sneakerboot is as comfortable as the regular Free Run 2 line, but tough enough for the elements. Check out this Survival Bracelet Accessory that houses a compass, magnesium firestarter and LED flashlight on your wrist. It easily attaches to any paracord bracelet as well.

Oh and if you noticed that it seems to be missing a bottle opener, they have one of those too:

Jordan Future

With Jordan brand officially unveiling their newest creation, the Future (releasing March 15, 2014), and creating a huge buzz this week, you've probably developed an opinion one way or the other. It's quite the polarizing shoe already and it hasn't even been released yet. The use of the iconic Jordan XI sole will appeal to old 'heads and the one-piece Woven Chukka upper has a cult following already.

It's obvious that this is a casual shoe, not an on-court performer so the question is what to wear with it? Most of the pics so far show sweatpants or track pants. When hanging out around the house relaxing, these options would be perfect to match the comfort of the Future, but what if you're heading out and want to compliment the look?

What you don't want to do is rock a pair of loose or baggy jeans that will swallow the Future and cover most of the shoe. Dress pants are also too formal for it. Since it's a tight fit around the foot and the ankle, there's nothing for your denim to sit on top of like there is with most retro Jordans. That being the case, you're best option is to go with a slim fit jean that hugs the ankle and won't overlap the shoe. Here are a couple options:

Jordan XI Gamma Blue - Air Force One White/Royal Blue

Want to know what to wear with your Gammas or a classic pair of AF1's? Clearly the choice is Duke Basketball gear! Just ask Coach K and Jabari Parker:

I love the old school/new school footwear going on in this week's SI cover. You got Coach K repping some classic Air Forces and Jabari Parker in the newest colorway of the retro XI's. Who looks better?

Air Jordan X - Powder

Jordan brought back this classic UNC colorway of the Air Jordan X this weekend in a limited release. Did you get your hands on a pair? If so, there's not a better time to dress them up a bit than when they are fresh out of the box and ready to be undeadstocked. Here are a few button downs that add to the Jordan class, but aren't too formal for sneakers.

Nike Lebron X - Cork

While I'm not a fan of Lebron or his line of kicks, the corks definitely caught my eye. Unique and premium materials help the look of any shoe, especially the Lebron X. However, I am a huge fan of Nixon so when I saw their spring Naturel Collection, I immediately saw them as a compliment to the Lebron Corks. Sport a natural look with this combination.  The Private is my favorite, but any of these watches would be a perfect accessory to the corks.

Nike Foamposite - Galaxy

There's only one thing any self-respecting Galaxy Foams owner would be caught in public accompanying them with:

New Balance National Parks 998

Dress these New Balance National Parks 998's up a bit with some chinos instead of the usual jeans you'd normally rock with sneakers. Khaki, tan and brown are a nice compliment to the powder blue that dominates the upper, or go with black to match the outsole.

Reebok Rail "Hip-Hop Appreciation Pack"

Reebok's upcoming release of their "Hip-hop Appreciation Pack" includes 2 iconic Reebok silhouettes, the Rail and the Q96. Today we take a look at the Rail. This limited Royal/Black/Green/Red colorway has enough styling to stand out on its own, so don’t be afraid to embrace the hip-hop elements and some complimentary colors. The kicks will pop no matter what. Here are a couple examples of color jeans to wear with them:

Can’t go wrong with a casual hoodie. A zip-up is extremely versatile and will work with just about anything. Toss your favorite tee-shirt underneath, whether it be a fresh white, graphic or anything else and you’re good to go.

Air Jordan II Cement

Drawing from its “Made in Italy” roots, the Retro Jordan II Cement has a fashion forward look with this new color blocking, making this pair look like more of a casual wear than an on-court wear. This makes it quite versatile, especially with black and grey dominating the silhouette. The good news is that black and grey can be paired with anything, the tricky part will be matching the infrared without making it stick out like a sore thumb.  If you get your hands on a pair of these coveted II’s (we haven’t seen a retro II in a while) here’s what should be hanging in your closet to compliment such a stylized sneaker:

Jeans:
*      http://bananarepublic.gap.com/assets/common/clear.gifA pair of grey jeans would be subtle enough to not take away from the style of the Jordan II, but would match the cement and black while accentuating the infrared piping. These grey Vintage Straight jeans from Banana Republic have enough style to keep up with the J’s and don’t overdo it with the fading: http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=368II7&vid=

On top:
Toss on this gingham shirt from Ralph Lauren and you’re good to go. The gingham doesn’t overpower the cement print and you’re still making the II’s the focal point. Attention should always be on the heat you’re rocking on your feet.

Hit the streets giving your clean Jordan II Cements the style they deserve.
